Summer 2026 Eclipse Season (& What It Means For You)

We are entering a season of extra-potent lunar energy as the summer eclipse season arrives! You are quite likely feeling the effects already, in one or more areas of your life and deep within your psyche.

In August, we will experience the second set of eclipses for 2026. Eclipses portend beginnings and endings. Eclipse season is a cosmic reset or recalibration.

Eclipses occur in predictable cycles when the sun and the moon are next to (“conjunct”) points called the lunar nodes. 

We currently are moving into the Leo/Aquarius nodal axis, although the upcoming lunar eclipse will be the last one in Pisces as the Virgo/Pisces axis wraps up.

A total solar eclipse will occur at 20 degrees of Leo on August 12th. A partial lunar eclipse will follow at 4 degrees of Pisces on August 28th. 

A solar eclipse occurs at a new moon and a lunar eclipse occurs at a full moon.

Earlier this year in February, we had a solar eclipse in Aquarius, which was a precursor to this new cycle. 

The Lunar Nodes In Leo and Aquarius

The nodes return to a particular sign axis roughly every 19 years. An axis means a pair of signs occurring across from each other in the zodiac.

What was happening for you about 19 years ago? Do you notice any similarity to now? Has something come back around again for review and a new level of integration?

Wrapping Up the Virgo-Pisces Eclipse Season

The nodes stay in particular signs for about 18 months or 1.5 years. Over the past year and a half, they have been in the signs of Virgo and Pisces. These are signs that speak to service and sacrifice. 

Virgo is an earth sign that focuses on the body and mental discernment and integration of information. Virgo is associated with practical, earth-based service.

Pisces is a more ethereal sign, with an emphasis on the imagination and the spiritual. Pisces has an association with spiritual service and sacrifice.

How you may have experienced this time personally will depend on your own chart, but collectively, this has been a period of time calling us to perhaps move from a focus on a rational, materialist viewpoint to a more collective, intuitive awareness. A time even, perhaps, to use logic to build new worlds (or open us up to the possibility).

The partial lunar eclipse in Pisces on August 28th is a time of integrating this most recent cycle. It may also be a time of letting go of something you no longer need. Lunar eclipses are often experienced in a more nuanced or subtle way than solar eclipses. 

Entering The Leo And Aquarius Eclipse Cycle

Leo and Aquarius speak to the self vs the collective. 

Leo represents pride, loyalty, performance, confidence, and sovereignty. 

Leo is a fire sign ruled by the sun. It radiates the light of the sun and often has a desire for recognition.

Aquarius is the self within the collective, the group. In traditional astrology, Aquarius is ruled by Saturn. Saturn brings structure and discipline. 

Aquarius is an air sign that can also represent logic and rational thought.

Both signs can be associated with creativity and innovation. Although Aquarius is often associated with originality and nonconformity, it can sometimes show up as the opposite, as group-think, or rigidity. 

The south node is entering Leo and the north node is entering Aquarius. 

The south node represents the area of life that is most comfortable and familiar and perhaps loaded with some baggage. 

The north node represents how we are using or integrating the lessons or awareness of the south node in order to move toward more authenticity. 

The two tend to work together. 

We return to the comfort or familiarity of the south node “material” again and again (perhaps rather unconsciously until awareness grows) and move consciously toward awareness, personal growth, and integration through the “call” of the north node.

During this nodal axis, we are called to examine how we are participating in the collective. 

Are we showing up as our best, most authentic selves? How can we both be authentic and unique and contribute the collective?

Summer Eclipse Season Horoscopes

Depending on where these signs occur in your birth chart, there is a more personalized level of this eclipse cycle unfolding for you. 

I’ve provided brief horoscopes below based on each zodiac axis (or pairing) that indicate which areas of life are especially highlighted for you during the Leo-Aquarius eclipse cycle. These horoscopes are determined by looking at your rising sign. That said, you can also read for your sun sign and for a more intimate, deeper read, for your moon sign.

Friends and connections, personal enjoyment. Maybe your participation in a group setting helps you to express yourself more creatively. You may also find that friends or an organization can be surprisingly beneficial in helping you support your children or creative projects. Maybe you’re ready to share something creative with a wider audience, or somehow involve your children.

Taurus/Scorpio

Home and family vs career and the public sphere. Perhaps situations with parents. You may be moving between how you’re showing up at home and how you’re showing up in your public life.

Gemini/Sagittarius

Thinking and belief systems. Travel. Learning and education. Siblings. Local community and traveling. Self promotion, sharing your ideas with a larger audience. What are you learning or teaching? What do you want to share, promote, or explore?

Cancer/Capricorn

Personal and shared finances. Sense of self worth. Intimacy. How are you investing in yourself and in your net worth? This may even speak to investment in the metaphysical/occult sphere in some fashion, whether literally financial or in terms of study.

Leo/Aquarius

Healthy partnerships. The importance of self-development for the purpose of improved relationships and vice versa. How can your personal growth aid your 1:1 relationships, whether personal or business? How does relating to others help you grow personally?

Virgo/Pisces

Integrating deep unconscious material to support not just yourself, but also to be of service either at your work or simply in your daily life. Insights into how to improve health and daily routine.
