About Julie
How I became an astrologer
There was a time when I thought astrology was just a source of entertainment. Like many people, I would read my sun sign horoscope in the newspaper or in a magazine for fun. At that time, I had no idea how rich and ancient the art of astrology truly is.
It was my friend Edna who opened my eyes.
I met Edna over 10 years ago when I was living in Philadelphia, PA. Edna was about 90 years old at the time. I was a volunteer in a program that matched elders with companions. I would visit on Fridays and Edna would tell me stories about her life.
One of the many intriguing things about Edna was that she had been an astrologer. I began to get curious about astrology.
A few years later, I moved back South to be closer to family. I also picked up tarot cards again, which I hadn’t done since I was in college. I also decided I wanted to get a birth chart reading.
It’s funny to me now that I had no idea how much astrology content was already available online at the time, or how many other astrology resources and books were out there.
I researched astrologers and decided to make an appointment (in person!) with an astrologer in Nashville, Suzie Kerr Wright. Suzie was a well-known astrologer, tarot reader, and psychic-medium in the Nashville area. That birth chart reading blew me away and soon I was studying astrology.
Since that fateful birth chart reading, I have immersed myself in the study of this ancient art. I am certified in Hellenistic Astrology through The Astrology School, which is founded and directed by astrologer Chris Brennan.
I also have studied with astrologers Rebecca Gordon, Adam Elenbaas of Nightlight Astrology, and many more through Kepler College. In addition, I have completed a mentorship with Moon Zlotnick through the Organization for Professional Astrology.
My Approach
My intention is to translate the language of astrology to help clients understand and embrace their own unique life stories. I practice a blend of traditional Hellenistic astrology and modern psychological astrology.
I’m a certified life coach through Radiant Coaches Academy and I hold an MA in Women’s Studies. It is my hope that clients find validation, personal power, healing, and clarity through embracing their unique life story—a story that is literally written in the stars.
I enjoy teaching and presenting astrology to other astrology enthusiasts. Recent events include presenting at the Nashville Astrology Club and facilitating astrology workshops on Zoom and in person at New Moon Yoga in Franklin, Tennessee.
I served as the 2023-2024 VP of Public Relations and the Mentorship Coordinator for Kepler Astrologers Toastmasters Club and I am a member of the Organization for Professional Astrology (OPA).
My writing has been published in a variety of spiritual and wellness publications and platforms, including Iaomai Global, New Earth Almanac (no longer in publication), and more.
